BIO
Maggie Chow, a contemporary abstract painter, was born to Chinese parents and raised in Hong Kong. Her works have been enthusiastically received, exhibited and collected internationally.
In her teens, and uncomfortable with the intense academic pressures in Hong Kong, Ms. Chow instead developed a passion for the arts through her studies of the piano, as well as Chinese calligraphy. It was not until many years later, after moving to Los Angeles to further her education, that she began to paint.
After the loss of her husband to cancer in 2004 and subsequent challenges of raising her two young children alone, she discovered a deep connection to her inner peace and joy through Open Heart Meditation. This practice continues to influence her works.
During a 10-year span beginning in 2009, Ms. Chow was mentored in Los Angeles by nature-based abstract painter and teacher Linda Jacobson.
Ms. Chow currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
